Dubai's GDRFA Enriches Children's Experience at Modesh City with Popular Cartoon Characters, Salem,
The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) in Dubai has organised a unique event for children in Modesh City, inviting them to meet popular cartoon characters including Salem, Salama, Modesh, and Dana.
The event, part of GDRFA's ongoing social responsibility efforts, aimed to educate children about the importance of the UAE passport and the specialised services provided at the children's passport control counters in Terminals 1, 2, and 3 at Dubai International Airports.
As part of the event, children had the opportunity to familiarise themselves with a replica of the airport passport control counters, allowing them to experience stamping their own passports under the watchful eyes of passport officers. The initiative is aimed at fostering a sense of national identity among young Emiratis and showcasing the quality of services provided by GDRFA, which are tailored specifically for the younger generation.
Brigadier General Hussein Ibrahim, Assistant Director General of the Institutional Support Sector, stressed the importance of organising diverse events for various segments of the community, including children, as part of their social responsibility initiative. He highlighted the need to provide opportunities for the younger generation—the future of the nation—to acquaint themselves with the services GDRFA provides, such as the specialised passport control counters for children.
Brigadier Ibrahim stressed that the directorate is committed to stimulating children’s participation in a wide range of educational and recreational activities aimed at enhancing the understanding and appreciation of these services among the younger generation.
He underscored that events such as these play a vital role in fostering community engagement and facilitating positive interaction, making the most of the summer vacation period.
Ibrahim said that GDRFA will continue to cooperate with strategic partners, such as the Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment, and other organisations to offer a variety of community programmes that improve the quality of life for both customers and the broader community.
The event concluded on a high note with the distribution of gifts to the participating children and group photos with their beloved cartoon characters, creating lasting memories.
