GDRFA honours outstanding staff and sectors with the Banner of Excellence Award 2022-2023

The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) in Dubai has celebrated the exceptional performance and dedication of outstanding staff and sectors that received GDRFA medals for professional, administrative, and institutional excellence. 

They were honoured by HE Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of GDRFA with the 12th edition of the Banner of Excellence Award 2022-2023. In his address, Lt. Gen. Al Marri emphasised that the award is designed to foster leadership qualities and motivate employees to enhance their professional skills and competencies, adding that GDRFA pays utmost attention to enhancing the skills of its employees and unlocking their potential and creativity.

The ceremony recognised outstanding contributions in various categories. Awardees included individuals excelling as supervisory employees, administrative employees, innovators, customer service personnel, young professionals, and specialists.

Additionally, accolades were bestowed upon six professional categories: exceptional leaders, distinguished service staff, volunteers, sports creativity, distinguished department heads, and unsung heroes.

Further honours were presented to the winners of institutional and variable awards. These included accolades for the best sector in implementing the sustainability code, the best joint initiative, the best sector in strategic planning and competitiveness, the best sector in financial and property management, and the best sector in integrated government services.

Awards were also given for the most improved sector, excellence in change management, operations management, commitment to strategic planning and performance indicators, data management, institutional learning, innovation, institutional agility, improving quality of life, and the leading sector for the year 2022.

Special honours were also presented for the Future Fit Seal team, the best leadership, and the future department. The ceremony concluded with the Banner of Excellence being given to the Air Ports Sector, highlighting the sector’s exceptional achievements over the past year.
