GDRFA Dubai Hosts Key Forum 'You Matter the Most,' Showcasing Decades of Progress and Employee Focus
The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) in Dubai has hosted a significant forum for its functional and administrative cadres under the theme" "You Matter the Most” to highlight the crucial role of human resources in meeting organisational goals, enhancing efficiency, and boosting productivity.
The forum commenced with the UAE national anthem and featured the screening of "Between the Past and the Present." The video highlighted the dramatic changes in GDRFA from 2006 to 2023. It showcased a remarkable increase in passenger traffic at Dubai International Airport, from about 3.6 million in 2006 to over 44 million in 2023.
Similar growth was observed at the Hatta Land port, with passenger numbers rising from approximately 242,000 in 2006 to over 3.5 million. Additionally, GDRFA has achieved a total of 170 awards, including 39 international, 18 regional, and 113 local awards, with an impressive increase in job satisfaction to 94.2% in 2023.
HE Lieutenant General Mohammed Al Marri, Director General of GDRFA, emphasised the importance of human cadres as the cornerstone of the organization. He highlighted that GDRFA is making tremendous efforts to reduce bureaucracy in line with the directives of the UAE leadership.
For his part, Major General Obaid Muhair bin Suroor, Deputy Director General, emphasised the need to continually develop work tools and foster self-readiness among employees while maintaining a strong team spirit.
Furthermore, Major General Awad Al Owaim, Assistant Director General for Human and Financial Resources, announced the implementation of a remote work system and opportunities for employees to bid on department-owned assets and properties.
