"GDRFA Dubai Illuminates Smart Gates in Maroon to Celebrate Qatar National Day"
Under the theme "UAE - Qatar, Wishing You Well Every Year," the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai (GDRFA Dubai) celebrated Qatar National Day, which is observed annually on December 18. The celebration highlights the deep-rooted fraternal relations between the two brotherly nations under the umbrella of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).
Dubai Airports witnessed a distinguished celebratory atmosphere on this occasion, where passport control officers warmly welcomed Qatari travelers with smiles and special greetings. A unique stamp bearing the theme "UAE - Qatar, Wishing You Well Every Year" was placed on Qatari passports as an expression of brotherly bonds. In addition, GCC passport control counters were adorned with Qatari flags, and the smart gates were illuminated in maroon, symbolizing the Qatari flag's colors.
As part of GDRFA Dubai's commitment to providing an exceptional experience for visitors, free SIM cards were distributed under the "Connect with Happiness" initiative. This initiative allows travelers arriving in Dubai to enjoy exceptional communication services and ease their journey. Gifts were also distributed to Qatari visitors to honor this occasion.
Major General Talal Ahmed Al Shanqiti, Assistant Director General for the Air Ports Sector, stated:
"Our participation in this national occasion reaffirms the values of brotherhood and mutual respect between the two nations. Dubai passport officers made exceptional efforts to welcome our Qatari brothers with special care and great attention, reflecting the values that unite us under the umbrella of the GCC."
This celebration highlights the Gulf unity shared between the UAE and Qatar and reflects the social and cultural ties that have positively contributed to strengthening cooperation across various economic and humanitarian sectors.
