GDRFA Dubai welcomes visitors and tourists arriving to the country through Dubai Airports
The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai (GDRFA-Dubai) is preparing to receive visitors and tourists arriving to the UAE through Dubai airports from July 7 in line with the highest safety standards. The Department began receiving residents returning via Dubai airports with a poster that says “A warm welcome to your second home” welcoming visitors and residents who consider the UAE their second home.
His Excellency Major General Mohamed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of GDRFA Dubai, affirmed that the resumption of air traffic via Dubai airports is an important step in strengthening the aviation sector and consolidating the UAE’s and the Emirate of Dubai’s position as one of the most important aviation centres in the world. He underlined that the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, regarding air traffic will pave the way for a new phase towards supporting the economic movement, which is considered one of the most important factors that drive the UAE’s development. Along with establishing new realities, the pandemic crisis has also created unprecedented opportunities for improvement at various levels.
His Excellency Major General Al Marri said: "We welcome all visitors and tourists coming through Dubai airports to the country and assure that they are always welcome in their second home country. We are fully prepared to facilitate their travel procedures in accordance with the highest health and safety standards.”
Brigadier General Talal Ahmed Al Shanqiti, Assistant General Director of Airport Passport Affairs sector, affirmed that GDRFA is constantly enhancing its abilities to receive visitors and provide excellent services to travellers coming through Dubai airports in accordance with precautionary and security measures of highest standards. These measures will ensure the safety of both travellers and airport employees in cooperation with the Department’s strategic partners in Dubai airports, he added.
Al Shanqiti pointed out that since the resumption of air traffic, Dubai airports have witnessed an increase in the number of travellers arriving to the country. This increase is set to boost the inflow of foreign investments and restore confidence in the UAE’s tourism sector, he said.
