Visit GITEX 2020 GDRFA Dubai to experience the world of future
His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, visited the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai platform at the opening of the 40th GITEX Technology week, which started today at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
GDRFA Dubai showcases a range of its latest technology and smart projects remotely and virtual reality to provide a unique customer experience with artificial intelligence technologies and the fourth industrial revolution.
Within GITEX Technology Week 2020, GDRFA Dubai will hold a virtual conference entitled “the future of travel and residence" over three days from 7 to 9 December, including an elite group of speakers in the GDRFA Dubai and several experts to present the challenges facing various fields. In addition to the experience of GDRFA Dubai during the Covid-19 pandemic.
His Excellency Major General Mohamed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of GDRFA Dubai, stressed the importance of this global and annual event in supporting the process of digital transformation in the UAE and to reaffirm Dubai’s position as a global centre and leader across various fields.
He added, the exhibition this year is different. It combines direct and virtual attendance due to the pandemic. UAE has proven its ability to deal with various challenges, thanks to the guidance of the leadership and our institutions’ role in developing work mechanisms and putting forward meaningful initiative. which supports the process of sustainable and digital development in the country to be the best country in the world in the UAE’s Golden Jubilee in 2021.

Platform #1: Golden visa – Amer service application (Remotely call)
A Golden visa is a 10-year visa granted to several beneficiaries. The UAE has expanded it to certain professionals, specialized degree-holders, and others. The new categories include Ph.D. holders, Doctors, engineers in the fields of computer engineering, electronics, programming, electricity, and biotechnology, as well graduates from accredited universities in the country with a GPA of rate 3.8 or more. GDRFA Dubai will allow visitors to inquire about all information related to the golden residency. The Amer service application add a news service that allows audiovisual communication directly with customers through the GDRFA Dubai smart application, and ability to with send documents and book for appointments.
Platform #2: digital channels – Dubai Now app
It consists of two number projects; the first project is "digital channels,” a package of digital connectivity services with different government entities that contribute to developing integration and interconnection to achieve fast and distinguished services for customers. The second project, the "Dubai Now application,” was launched by Smart Dubai to accelerate the smart transfer in Dubai through a unified platform for all government services. Fifteen services provided by GDRFA Dubai added, such as: (issuing, renewing, or cancelling residency for all family members - View status of residence visas and entry permits - Request official travel reports for the sponsored).
Platform #3: Dubai E-document system (DEDS)
It is a digital encyclopedia of all travel documents for various world countries, created by GDRFA Dubai, supported by samples of original documents. This system aims to facilitate entry and exit procedures and detecting cases of fraud.
Platform #4: Travellers Happiness Card (AlSAADA card)
It is a privileged card issued to all employees of the administration and their first degree relatives. It includes offers and discounts for nearly 2,500 commercial entities covering many aspects of the beneficiary's life, including home supplies, entertainment, e-shopping, construction and real estate, health and beauty, restaurants, legal affairs, education and other fields. GDRFA Dubai will grant tourists coming through Dubai ports AlSAADA card to take advantage the offers during their stay.
Platform #5: Digital consulting - statistical prediction
Digital consulting, it’s a platform to provide consulting service in digital fields provided by its elites and expert in the field of information technology. GDRFA Dubai also provide a "statistical prediction" system. This system estimates for the future on the basis on past and present data and their impact on obtaining statistical and graphical data to forecast the future, which contributes to strategic and administrative planning in the economic, social and demographic fields.
Platform #6: The Next Generation of ports (NGB)
A future generation of ports in the Emirate of Dubai, through which it will be possible to complete the departure and entry procedures within 10 seconds. In this period, the passport control officer will need to match the person’s identity with the previously verified data through an accurate electronic system and a specialized operations room. This system, which is supported by the latest technologies, is characterized by raising the employees’ productivity, which contributes to achieving the highest level of satisfaction and happiness for travellers through the Dubai airports.
