GDRFA Director-General honours cleaner for honesty and good conduct
The worker found and returned a lost passport to its owner
The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai (GDRFA) yesterday (Friday) honoured a cleaner working at Dubai Airports, for his honesty, and assuming a full moral and societal responsibility towards lost items related to travellers’ belongings, especially passports.
The story came to light when one of the families travelling through Dubai Airports filed a report at the airport about their daughter losing her passport on the plane that landed on the airport runway. While carrying out his duties, the worker found the passport and quickly handed it over to the airport security, who in turn gave it back to the girl.
The incident coincided with Lieutenant-General Mohammad Al Marri, Director-General of the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs, visiting at the airport, to check on the needs of travellers and inspect the progress of work at the airport.
Lieutenant-General Al Marri and Brigadier General Talal Ahmed Al Shanqiti, Assistant General Director of Airport Passport Affairs sector, were informed about the incident. They immediately called the worker and honoured him for his honesty and dedication to work.
Al Marri stressed that the GDRFA is very keen to honour workers who excel in performing their duties thanks to their pivotal role and honesty, which reflects what the GDRFA is all about.
