GDRFA’s Continuing Education & Talent Development Center celebrates graduation of 1000 employees
The Continuing Education and Talent Development Center at the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) has achieved a significant milestone with the graduation of 1,000 GDRFA employees from diverse academic and scientific fields over the past three years.
The graduates include 23 PhD holders, 317 with Master's degrees, and 780 Bachelor's degree holders. Currently, 411 employees are continuing their education at the Center, with ambitions to earn higher degrees in various disciplines.
The Center has forged 21 agreements and memorandums of understanding with various educational institutions in the public and private sectors. These collaborations have yielded more than 60 free educational seats, resulting in a substantial financial saving of AED30 million. The Center has also gained international accreditation from prestigious institutions like Cambridge University, the University of Michigan, and IDP.
A noteworthy initiative by the Center was the launch of the Academic Advisor Initiative, under which 20 academic advisors from the department's PhD holders were selected to provide smart technology-based academic guidance in over 120 scientific disciplines. Furthermore, 19 employees with PhDs and master's degrees from GDRFA have been trained to join the faculty of the Emirates Academy for Training and Development.
In 2021, GDRFA introduced the Knowledge Ambassadors Initiative, aiming to leverage the expertise of its distinguished staff in disseminating knowledge across government agencies. Over three years, the initiative has conducted 52 training courses for nine governmental entities in Dubai, marking a significant contribution to the spread of knowledge and expertise within the region.
