With the participation of more than 110,000 workers, GDRFA Dubai celebrates International Workers' Day

With the participation of more than 110,000 workers of various cultures embodying the spirit of coexistence and tolerance in the UAE community, GDRFA celebrated International Workers' Day, which falls on May 1st of each year, by organizing a series of special events. This was in recognition of the positive role of the workforce and their contribution to building the nation's structures and implementing its ambitious projects. 

 

The celebratory events, which included a range of sports, recreational, educational, cultural, and health activities, saw the participation of approximately 110,000 workers from 8 major institutions and companies operating in Dubai: Dubai Sports Council, Imdaad, China United, IFC, Transguard, Tristar, Dulsco, and Sobha Construction. In addition to many accompanying celebrations organized by other companies. The celebrations, held in multiple locations in Dubai and running from 10 AM to 8 PM, beautifully showcased the UAE community and the culture of tolerance and coexistence, which are part of the identity of this community that values the roles played by every individual working on the land of the benevolent Emirates.

 

 The participating workers received gifts and certificates of appreciation. On this occasion, His Excellency Major General Obaid Maher bin Suroor, Deputy Director General of the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai, Chairman of the Permanent Committee for Labor Affairs in Dubai, and Chairman of the Global Appreciation Award, said: "Leadership is a characteristic of our ancient society with its values, authenticity, traditions, and tolerance, thanks to the vision of our wise leadership that has laid the foundations of our blessed renaissance and made the UAE the focus of the world's attention and those aspiring to build a better future for themselves.

 

 Our celebration of International Workers' Day is a manifestation of the highest forms of appreciation for the workforce that plays a prominent role in the development journey of the UAE and enhances its global competitiveness." His Excellency Major General Obaid bin Suroor added: "The UAE is at the forefront of the world's countries in terms of ensuring the rights of its workforce through laws, legislation, policies, and procedures that protect the interests of both employers and workers, ensuring the rights and duties of both parties towards each other, and providing a decent life and job security for millions of workers, and spreading the culture of appreciating individual efforts, no matter their size." 

 

His Excellency Major General Dr. Ali bin Ajif Al-Zaabi, Assistant Director General for Governance and Control Sector and Acting Assistant Director General for Work Organization Sector at GDRFA, emphasized that the administration's celebration of International Workers' Day stems from its belief in the importance of the workforce and their significant role in the UAE's renaissance and economic enhancement. He pointed out that these celebrations left the best impressions on the participating workers and brought joy to their faces, appreciating their dedication and devotion to their work for a better future for themselves and their families.

 

 Major General Ali bin Ajif expressed his deep appreciation to the Dubai Sports Council and the participating companies in these celebrations for their wonderful organization and valuable efforts to continue enhancing the UAE's reputation as a country that cares for its workers and considers them an important part of its foundation and excellence. The participating workers expressed their joy at this great appreciation and admiration for the levels of decent living, stimulating work environments, respect for differences in customs and traditions, safety, and opportunities for self-development that the UAE provides for everyone living on its land and contributing to its renaissance.

 

 At the conclusion of the celebrations, the participating companies distributed gifts and certificates of appreciation to their participating workers, wishing them a bright future and their families.
