GDRFA Dubai Announces Official Holiday for the Prophet Muhammad's Birthday During the Amnesty Period
The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) in Dubai announced that Sunday, 12 Rabi' al-Awwal 1446 AH, corresponding to September 15, 2024, will be an official holiday at the centres providing status regularization services for violators in observance of the Prophet Muhammad's Birthday. This decision comes in implementation of the Cabinet's resolution regarding the official holiday agenda approved for the public and private sectors for the year 2024.
The GDRFA confirmed that all centres will resume their normal operations after the holiday on Monday, September 16, 2024, from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM throughout the week, except on Fridays, when the hours will be from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM and then from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM., at the Status Regularization Center in Al Aweer, and at normal hours across 86 Amer Centers in Dubai according to their respective working hours. The GDRFA encourages all beneficiaries of the initiative to take advantage of the available amnesty period to correct their status before the campaign's designated period ends.
This holiday falls during the amnesty period for status regularization under the "Together Towards a Safer Community" campaign, launched by the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Ports Security on September 1, and continues until the end of October. The campaign aims to facilitate the procedures for correcting the residency status of individuals in the UAE.
The campaign is part of the UAE's commitment to ensuring the safety and stability of residents, providing support and guidance to all targeted groups.
