GDRFA Dubai Concludes the Year with Gratitude and Appreciation for the Workforce
The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) in Dubai concluded its 2025 New Year Celebrations for the Workforce, held under the theme "Celebrating Achievements... Building the Future." This exceptional event underscored Dubai’s commitment to recognizing the workforce as a cornerstone of its developmental and cultural vision.
Held in Al Quoz, the event welcomed over 20,000 attendees from various nationalities and age groups, reflecting its wide appeal. Beginning at 2 PM, the celebrations featured 17 diverse global performances, including acrobatic displays that added a unique touch of entertainment. The festivities culminated at midnight with a spectacular firework display that lit up Dubai’s skies, marking the start of a hopeful and ambitious new year.
The event also created excitement and engagement with prize raffles held in four stages throughout the day. A total of over 200 participants won valuable prizes, including two cars, 80 gold bars, 35 electric scooters, 30 travel tickets, 60 mobile phones, and six cash prizes. Additionally, free internet packages were distributed to all attendees.
GDRFA Dubai ensured the event was organized with the highest standards of efficiency to guarantee the safety and comfort of all attendees. Over 100 volunteers from the Directorate provided vital support, while the site was secured by 4 police patrols and 80 security personnel. Emergency medical teams, ambulance services, and firefighters were also on standby to ensure comprehensive safety measures.
Additionally, a variety of kiosks for food and beverages, as well as logistical services kiosks, were set up to enhance the attendee experience. Environmental efforts were not overlooked, with Dubai Municipality providing cleaning services that maintained a clean and pleasant atmosphere throughout the event.
The event received extensive media coverage, with over 70 television channels and print media outlets highlighting the celebratory atmosphere and conveying its humanitarian messages effectively.
Commenting on the occasion, His Excellency Lieutenant General Mohammed Al Marri, Director General of GDRFA Dubai, stated:
