National Day: Statement of His Excellency Major General Mohamed Ahmed Al Marri, GDRFA-D

“Today, as we celebrate the 49th anniversary of the Union and a great legacy of giving, accumulated throughout all these decades, citizens and residents of different nationalities are sharing messages of affection and pride about this generous land, in a display of their love and loyalty for this beloved country. It is a perfect occasion to remember and pay tributes to the efforts of our founding leaders in establishing this country on a strong foundation of values and principles of unity and harmony, prioritizing people and considering them as the real assets of the nation. This is what we see today in the sons and the daughters of the UAE, who have become pioneering and honourable examples in driving the transformation of our homeland into one of the best nations in the world. This is a precious opportunity that we all cherish, renewed every year along with the new accomplishments of the UAE under the guidance of our wise leadership that follows in the footsteps of Sheikh Zayed Ben Sultan Al Nahyan, upholding his values, tolerance, security and peace. The country continues its journey of development and empowerment under the leadership of His Highness Al Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Maktoum, President of the UAE, and his brothers, the rulers of all seven emirates, who have achieved significant progress in all sectors within a short period of time. Our leaders led the country to prosperity and progress and have made it a model for stability and safety for both citizens and residents. The unprecedented circumstances we are currently navigating and our response to its health consequences proved that the UAE is invincible and do not know the word ‘impossible.’ The UAE has responded to this crisis with exceptional resolve, strength and patience, adopting the right regulations and precautionary measures to provide reassurance, security, peace and happiness to its people.” He added: “As officials, we assert today our determination and our commitment to remaining loyal to our wise leadership to move forward in the path of progress and prosperity in all sectors, to reach the top and become the symbol of strength and excellence. We strive to maintain the true spirit of the Union always alive in the souls of our employees and the residents, by highlighting the values, the traditions, the heritage and the culture of our homeland.” His Excellency, Major General Al Marri extended his sincerest congratulations and greetings to His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE; His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai; His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and DeputySupreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces; the their Highnesses Members of the Supreme Council, the Rulers of all emirates, deputy rulers, crown princes, all Emiratis and residents on the occasion of the UAE’s 49th National Day.
