International Youth Day: Statement of His Excellency Major General Mohamed Ahmed Al Marri

His Excellency, Major General Mohamed Ahmed Al Marri, General Director of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) in Dubai, said: “On the occasion of the International Youth Day, which is observed around the world on August 12 every year, the UAE takes pride in its industrious and ambitious youth in whom our wise leadership has absolute faith. Our wise leadership continues to harness all its efforts and capabilities to encourage and empower the country’s youth to be actively involved in its development journey. His Excellency, Major Director Al Marri added: “Over decades, the UAE has continued to invest in its youth, who have always proved their competencies through their ability to innovate. Their achievements and dreams have no limit, as reflected by their extension of the Earth’s boundaries to reach Mars. The recently launched ‘Hope Probe’ mission was built by Emirati youth, adding another prestigious milestone to the series of accomplishments achieved by the country under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE. So today, we have proved to the whole world that Emirati youth are capable of excelling in all sectors because the word ‘impossible’ does not exist for them. Al Marri said that GDRFA’s young employees are distinguished in various sectors, highlighting that the Directorate is committed to implementing its programs and initiatives to further develop abilities and skills of its youth. These efforts will motivate their participation in decision-making, giving them the incentive to use their full potential to contribute to the nation’s sustainable development. His Excellency added: “Let’s not forget our young front line heroes, who work with dedication and loyalty in order to take their homeland to new heights, facing these challenging circumstances hand in hand. They continue their work with patience, persistence and perseverance, proving to the world that they can overcome difficulties and changes with ease and resilience. Those are our youth; those are the future that Zayed envisioned. We are proud and honoured to stand for them and thank them for protecting our country and everyone who lives on this land.”
