Citizenship department at GDRFA-Dubai completes 15, 500 transactions in first half of 2020
The Naturalization sector at the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai (GDRFA-Dubai) announced that it has completed 15,500 transactions during the first half of the current year. This included 12,656 transactions for the issuance and renewal of special passports for UAE citizens, out of which, 3,209 transactions took place via GDRFA-Dubai’s smart application. The number of transactions for the issuance of family books for citizens stood at 552, while 2,200 transactions were for adding newborns to the citizens’ family book. Besides, the number of transactions conducted by the Customer Happiness Center at Latifa Hospital stood at 92. Major General Ahmed Al Muhairi, Assistant Director General of the Naturalization sector, said: “The smart application allowed customers to conduct all their transactions without the need to visit the headquarters of the Directorate or its centres. This is particularly relevant considering the Covid-19 pandemic situation and the precautionary measures adopted by the country to limit the spread of the virus. GDRFA remains committed to providing its services digitally in order to ensure the safety of its employees and customers.” Al Muhairi highlighted that GDRFA-Dubai is working non-stop to further develop the services provided to customers and strengthen its digital infrastructure in order to simplify delivery of services. These measures contribute to customer happiness in line with the aspirations of the country’s wise leadership in enhancing the efficiency of governmental work. Major General Ahmed Al Muhairi praised the efforts of the Naturalization sector employees in facilitating procedures for citizens. He lauded their keenness to provide the best services in accordance with the highest standards of quality and efficiency and complete the transactions within a record time.
