GDRFA prepares to join UAE Innovation Month 2020 activities
The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai (GDRFA Dubai) announced its participation in the activities of the UAE Innovation Month 2020. This is GDRFA’s fifth consecutive participation in the UAE Innovation Month. Under the theme ‘UAE Innovates: Towards the Next 50’ this year’s innovation month will run from February 22-29. The Directorate will showcase its innovations such as E44 project and Entry Permits 50+ project at a platform located in the boulevard of Emirates Towers - Dubai as part of its participation in the UAE Innovation Month. The E44 project is considered a significant achievement in the field of service delivery as it allocates a highway for land travellers, thereby reducing time and effort for the satisfaction of the traveller. Meanwhile, the ‘safety project’ is a system that can identify and prevent forged documents through pre-verification before the arrival of travellers. The Entry Permits 50+ project focuses on developing online systems and smart applications using artificial intelligence techniques in order to automate customer journey by 100% and reduce the turnaround time for service delivery. Furthermore, GDRFA will also organize a number of innovative events and programs throughout the week at its headquarters. The most notable among these is ‘Innovation City,’ which allows employees, school and university students to present their innovative projects to the public and provide them with the opportunity to interact with them. Besides, several competitions and other activities will also be organized, including the launch of the Innovation Residence platform and Innovation Charter and other events starting from February 23, until Thursday, February 27. On the sidelines of the UAE Innovation Month, the Directorate will also organize a workshop to prepare for the 50, which revolves around the six development paths mentioned in the January 4th document. The session will generate innovative ideas and projects and find realistic solutions to the challenges which the Directorate may confront in future.
