In line with the United Arab Emirates' global leadership in humanitarian efforts, the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) in Dubai recently hosted a delegation from the Emirates Human Rights Association to discuss the significant progress made through the "Towards a Safer Community" status regularization initiative. Launched on September 1, 2024, the initiative aims to regularize the status of individuals in violation of entry and residency laws, fostering an environment of community safety and mutual respect.

During the meeting, His Excellency Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of GDRFA Dubai, reviewed the ongoing procedures under this initiative, emphasizing that the primary goal is to uphold individuals' dignity and ensure their rights by facilitating the legal and humane regularization of violators' statuses. He highlighted that this initiative reflects the UAE’s vision of enhancing security and safety for everyone residing in the country.

Her Excellency Sheikha Najla Al Qasimi, Chairwoman of the Emirates Human Rights Association, expressed her great appreciation for the progress achieved, stating that the initiative offers a valuable opportunity for individuals to rectify their legal status while upholding the values of respect and the rule of law. She added, "At the Emirates Human Rights Association, we emphasize the importance of providing legal and humanitarian solutions for these individuals, reflecting our nation's commitment to fostering human values and achieving security and stability in society."

Her Excellency Sheikha Najla Al Qasimi also praised the close cooperation between government entities and the private sector in supporting this initiative, which effectively contributes to reintegrating violators into society by providing suitable job opportunities, thereby enhancing community security, and improving their quality of life.

Members of the association's board further highlighted the UAE's ongoing role in promoting human rights principles both locally and internationally, noting that these efforts embody the UAE's vision as a nation supportive of humanity and community security.
