Amendment of the family book
With this service, it is possible to modify the family book by: (adding a newborn, adding a wife, deleting a divorced woman from the family book, erasing due to death, and amending the first name in the family book).
Including a new baby in the family book:
1. A birth certificate.
Adding a citizen wife to the family book:
1. The marriage contract within the state, and if more than a year has passed since the contract, the continuation of the marriage must be brought from the Sharia court in the state.
2. The original passport of the husband.
3. The husband's original family book.
4. Family book of the wife or the father of the original wife.
5.copy of The wife's passport.
6. The wife's birth certificate.
7. The wife's last educational qualification.
8. Work card or work certificate of the wife, if she works.
Adding a foreign wife to the family book:
1. The original passport of the husband.
2. The husband's original family book.
3. The wife's original passport.
4. Two (2) personal photos of the wife (5.4 x 5.3 cm) with a white background.
5. A copy of the wife's residence, which is under the sponsorship of the citizen husband.
6. The wife's Emirates ID card.
7. The wife's birth certificate (to be translated and certified by the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs)
8. The work card or certificate of the husband's work. If the husband does not work, a declaration must be submitted from the Sharia court stating that the husband does not work.
9. Marriage contract within the state, and if more than a year has passed since the contract, a document proving the continuation of the marriage must be brought from the Sharia court in the state.
10. A statement from the consulate with the full name of the wife indicating (first name, father's name, grandfather's name, wife's mother's name, and wife's mother's father's name).
11. A copy of the passports of the father and mother, in case of death, along with a death certificate (the wife).
Excluding a divorced wife from the family book:
1. Divorce certificate.
2. A copy of the father's family book (national wife only).
3.Proof of case
Written off due to death:
1. The deceased's passport.
2. Death certificate.

3. Fill in the application data, where applicable.

1. Visit the nearest Customer Happiness Center.
2. Get the automated turn ticket and wait.
3. Submitting the application that fulfils all conditions and documents (if any) to the customer service employee.

1. The original marriage contract must be presented when adding the first child of a foreign wife not listed in the family book.
2. If a citizen wife has a first child not yet listed in the family book, she must be added before the newborn.
3. The UAE's appropriate official authorities must issue a new birth certificate if the child is born outside the country.
4. The passport must be handed over if the child was born abroad and entered the country using an emergency passport.
